Elisa

Elisa (23) arrived in Italy at the age of 9, joining her family who had moved there years earlier.

“Until eighth grade I was the only Chinese student at school. It was very hard for me, I couldn’t recognize anyone; to me you all looked the same.”

Her family is very conservative and discouraged her passion for dance, considering it a waste of time.
Thanks to T.U., where classes are free, she was finally able to pursue it.

“T.U. taught me that people who are very different from one another can get along.”
“As with many Chinese families, my parents want me to open a business, but I don’t want to live the life Chinese people often live here. I don’t want to be a bird trapped in a cage.”
