"Photographs are a means of transportation, they can take you to a different continent in a single glance. From these photographs, as well as space, the eternal time of India emerges, as if the country was set in a different era. Some of these photographs could have been taken centuries ago, some could be taken centuries from now. Scattered bodies in an everlasting Nineteenth-Century, or a limitless, luminous Medieval ages".
From the introductory text by Vasco Brondi
"The photographs, printed in two different formats — one slightly larger forming the outer cover, and one making up the central section — are reproduced full-bleed, on both the front and back of each page. When bound together as a book, the left half of one image interacts with the reverse half of the next, creating new, hybrid compositions — potentially infinite: as the sequence changes, so do the images that emerge".
Veronica Daltri, Internazionale
"Her relationship with India is so intense that it allows her the luxury of bypassing commonplaces and giving us back an intimate, immediate, immanent place, far from pindaric flights or spiritual temptations. If there is a spirituality, then, it is entirely interior (and, in this sense, unprecedented), so much so that one has the impression of being faced with a confession rather than the umpteenth observation. Moreover, the very careful and sophisticated editorial layout enhances the emergence of these hidden aspects with a game of pagination that disorients and amuses, lust as any real journey should do".
