Luis Jorge

Jorge, 29, was born in Medellín. Of Colombia, he only remembers the orphanage where he was adopted at age five, before moving to Colleferro. He is a hip-hop dancer and teaches lessons at T.U. for children who cannot afford classes.
“It is important they have a chance; for me, it was very difficult.”

When he skipped school, he would hang out at Termini Station.
“I met Helen, who told me about T.U., and I joined. Dancing gave me balance and strength.”
He believes dance helped him move away from the petty crime he and other kids were involved in before.
He dreams of opening his own dance school for disadvantaged children.
