Marianna Panzarino (24)

She founded Fridays for Future Bari, her hometown, and was among the activists involved in the first national coordination. In September, she took part in the effort to have the city of Rome declare a climate emergency, helping push the motion to unanimous approval in the Capitol. She studies law and dreams of becoming a magistrate, embracing not only the climate struggle but also the fight against the mafia. The sign she carries to every strike and action reads: “No people have a future without land,” a quote by Antonello Ardituro, a magistrate who has been battling the Casalesi ecomafia for years.
