Melanie. Toronto, Canada

“COVID-19 has affected the world in so many different ways.  Here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a state of emergency was officially declared on March 17, 2020. Since then, however, while many people are working remotely from their homes, my work is classified as an “essential service” so I am working regular full-time hours. Unfortunately, since I am physically going into work everyday, I have not had the opportunity to see or visit with my family members who live in very close proximity to me because I do not want to expose them to the virus.  The elderly have been the hardest hit here, so I drop off groceries to my mother every week and send her hugs through the glass pane door.  It is a difficult new reality to live through, but, if we all do our part and stay inside, we will get through this together.”
