Friday, April 3rd, 2020: Jeremy, Valentina, and Ramira in their apartment in Pilsen on Chicago´s West Side. They have both been on lockdown since March 11th, when their graduate programs cancelled in-person classes for the remainder of the semester. Jeremy is a law student in the J.D. program at Northwestern University and Valentina is getting her Masters in Social Sciences at the University of Chicago. “We leave our apartment only to go to the grocery store and take walks around the neighborhood”. The Government of Illinois issued a state-wide “Shelter-in-Place” order on March 20th.
